There are many options available when you want to make or purchase Halloween tombstones, and many different things you can do with them. Usually, these are used to make a small cemetery in someone’s yard, and often these are meant to be eerie or spooky. However, you can make them funny if you want to. You may find some in the store that have what you want on them, but if you want to go with something else for your Halloween tombstones, you can make you own and add your own sayings, dates, or names. Do whatever you want.

To make your own Halloween tombstones, you need something that is easy to work with and easy to store away for later use. One of the better materials you can use is Styrofoam. This is what a lot of the store made tombstones are made from and you can do the same yourself. These are easy to cut and shape, though make sure you dispose of extra carefully, as this material will not be good for your yard and the environment if left lying around. Get as many pieces or sheets as you need, and make sure the pieces are thick enough to stay sturdy when used outdoors for Halloween tombstones.

Once you have finished the basic shape of your Halloween tombstones, you can then use black paint to paint them. You can also use something like gray too. Do whatever you would like. If you want red, go with red. Use a waterproof paint if you can, though you may find that spray paint is the easiest and fastest type of paint to use. Once you have finished that, you can then take something to carve out the words you want to appear on your Halloween tombstones. Once you have completed that, you can then paint in the grooves with a different color to make the words stand out.

These Halloween tombstones are going to be light. When you place them in your yard, you have to worry about wind blowing them away. Styrofoam will blow away very easily. One of the better ways to keep them in place would be to use stakes that you can put into the bottom of your tombstones and then down into the ground. This would be comparable to doing something like staking a tent. It should hold them in a upright position and then also hold them in place when the wind blows. Your Halloween tombstones may also be vulnerable to snow or rain, but you may not be able to do much about that. Just watch for storms and take them in when you have to.
